The project Digitising and Augmenting the Panorama of the Battle of Murten (EPFL - Foundation for the Panorama of the Battle of Murten, 2022-2026) attracted already a lot of media attention, with more than 29 media stories in 2022 and 2023 (webpage of the project with press review here). Daniel Jaquet, as senior researcher and project manager, but also as a member of the foundation owning the panorama, was delighted to spend 45 minutes explaining the wonders achieved and presenting the next steps of this project. Mixing research, digitization and valorisation of this national treasure with new technologies and pioneering large-scale visualization systems at the Laboratory for Experimental Museology (lead Prof. Sarah Kenderdine)

A rare occasion in the life of an historian, to be able to speak directly to the highest authority of his country. Forever engraved memory, this event will stay with Daniel, who was really happy about the letter received as a thank you, and the mention of his name and the project in the government press release of June 29, 2023.
